Campus issues and contacts

Over the last year, we have built a strong, multifaceted environment collective. Its membersí interests lie in different areas, from rural issues to uranium mining to the OíConnor Ridge to Sullivanís Creek. Last year, the Union Board eliminated the use of plastic in the take-away food areas. This year, we would like to encourage the Board to develop an Ethical Purchasing Policy. One of the main focuses has been the Environmental Management Plan (EMP), which will have been launched in OóWeek, 2000. One of the campaigns that will be run this year, is to ensure that environmentally friendly products, including paper, are used within the Studentís Association, and, hopedly, throughout campus. The ANU Earth Charter group also campaigns on campus for greater involvement in the Earth Charter (see page ///).
